SENIOR WINEMAKER

Located in the highly acclaimed Clare Valley, this is an outstanding opportunity for a professional winemaker to join Jim Barry Wines in a role reporting to the Managing Director. Established in 1959, Jim Barry Wines, through its strong focus on viticulture practices and technical excellence has developed to be an internationally acclaimed winery.

The appointee to this role will be involved in all aspects of wine production from grape assessment through all processes to finished premium wines ready for bottling. Of major importance will be providing leadership and guidance and developing an existing small and committed team of winemakers. Other key activities include participating in the tasting and blending of wines, conducting trials, preparing wines for bottling and as required, being involved with promotional activities.

We seek an energetic, professionally qualified winemaker who has preferably gained experience in a medium to large winery and has been involved with grapes from a variety of regions, different climatic conditions and a diverse range of wine styles. A highly trained palate, outstanding leadership strengths, the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships as well as strong organisational and computer skills are essential. Tertiary oenology qualifications are necessary.
