The University of South Australia has an ambitious and exciting agenda for the future. Accompanying its vision for 2020 and beyond will be a mix of major infrastructure initiatives in excess of $100m that will be a physical hallmark of the University’s projected high profile presence within the higher education landscape. With around 2,400 FTE staff and a turnover approaching $500m, UniSA seeks a dynamic and experienced leader who will directly contribute to this substantial phase of development.

This rare, exciting and newly created senior position leads and manages the planning, development and continuous improvement of the physical resources that support the University’s learning, teaching, research and support functions with specific emphasis on :-

• capital planning, programming and delivery;
• risk management, including OH&S and environmental management;
• managing both minor and major capital works programs;
• building and maintaining a strong team environment.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience at a senior level in the management and leadership of complex building and/or engineering works projects. Proven financial management skills and experience managing multi-million dollar budgets will be pivotal for success in the role. With strong and effective negotiation and communication skills, you will have a proven ability to work in a complex and political environment balancing a range of priorities and expectations.

An attractive remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Rarely does a senior capital development opportunity like this arise in South Australia.
