Founded in 1847, St Peter’s College is the oldest independent school in South Australia. An Anglican day and boarding school for boys, it has a current enrolment of approximately 1,250 students from the Early Learning Centre to Year 12. A rich tradition, combined with magnificent facilities and a commitment to excellence in curriculum, co-curriculum and pastoral care has assisted to cement a reputation as one of the world’s leading schools.

The Head of Senior School reports directly to and works closely with the Headmaster as part of the Senior Leadership Team and the key responsibilities of this pivotal role include :-

• providing leadership and vision for the future direction and development of the Senior School;
• ensuring each boy receives an excellent education;
• overseeing the Administrative and Co-curricular programs of the Senior School;
• being responsible for the day to day running of the Senior School as part of the wider School community;
• proactively contributing to and modelling a culture of excellence consistent with the College’s core values;
• being responsible for the pastoral needs of boys within the Senior School;
• deputising for the Headmaster in his absence.

The successful applicant will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and experience, be an outstanding teacher and have an extensive understanding of boys’ education. In addition they will have the passion, grace, vision and strength of character to perform in the role. Superior communication, leadership, decision making, negotiation and organisational management skills are highly desirable as is a genuine commitment to boys’ education and the ethos of the College.
