NATIONAL PROJECT DIRECTOR
Management of Feral Camels Project

A large complex project supported by all levels of government and a diverse range of stakeholders, the Management of Feral Camels Project has been established as part of the response to the world’s largest feral camel herd that poses a major threat to the biodiversity values of Australia's outback rangeland regions.

As the professional representative for this important project, key responsibilities include :-

• providing leadership to the implementation of a project strategy that is supported by partners and stakeholders;
• establishing and maintaining an effective stakeholder management plan;
• ensuring the effective management of human resources to achieve project outcomes;
• ensuring effective financial and contractual management;
• maintaining an effective media and communications strategy.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous success in the management of complex projects, be a good facilitator in getting stakeholders to work collaboratively and exert effective conflict management skills. Whilst previous experience in a natural resource management context is preferred, of greater importance is your commercial acumen, and high level strategic planning and project management skills.

Whilst the position will ideally be Alice Springs based, flexibility may be negotiated with the successful candidate.
